T61p 15.4" Design

So yesterday I received my new T61p
I noticed a few oddities:
The screen is off center; now I knew this was normal but I thought only if there was the integrated WWAN option, and not without? On my screen it is showing two 'ribbed' areas, one on the left and one on the top. The one on the top has an icon for wireless (the same as on the hardware switch); however the laptop doesn't have any WWAN card, and on the status leds on the screen, I just have the icons for wifi, bluetooth, numlock, capslock, hdd, on, battery, power cable and sleep.
I had ordered the laptop with the memory card reader, which is located in the front of the machine, but strangely there is no cover or no flap for the reader, is this normal or did my machine lose something in shipping?
Also, all the pictures I saw on the net show the mic+speaker jacks in the front, mine are on the left.
Am I losing my mind or what?

the memory thing is normal.
Your mic and all that too is normal, the 14" model has them on the front, the 15" ones have it on the left.

Is there any difference between the screen (I mean the screen housing) between the 15.4" with the WWAN and that without?
The reason I am asking is that my new laptop (which I bought from ebay) -- I suspect the seller might have sent me the wrong item.
It is exactly what I have ordered except instead of the WWAN, it has Intel Turbo Memory, and I have been told you cannot get both, its either/or.
However, on the sticker on the box "Configured Product", I have the following (sorry if some lines don't make sense, the sticker has worn off from its journey):
Code: Select all

I think this might be a mistake on lenovo's side -- the laptop was sealed in the box and the seller is quite reputable on ebay.
Any clues?

Intel AMT (Active Management Technology) is not flash cache logic chip (Turbo memory) or WWAN, there is an / (or) there too.

I agree with you -- but my laptop does have the Intel flash, as detected by Vista and also as per the build sticker Intel Robson Card 1GB QTY.
However, just wondering why there are two entries for what seem like the same thing:
QuadFXw/WWAN w/AMT QTY -- 1.000
NvidiaQuadroFX570GM256MBgl

These stickers are for techs who assemble the machines, when they're finished assembling they place them on the boxes, kindly take a look at the part # beside them.

15WSXGAw/BTw/oWWANw/oUWB QTY
This I understand to mean:
15" WSXGA+ with Bluetooth without WWAN without UWB
QuadFXw/WWAN w/AMT QTY
This seems to be mystery component that is I guess an error on the sticker.
w/ means 'with'
w/o means 'without'

Call 1-866-96-THINK to have your Thinkpad T61p configured with WUXGA, you can note that your order will significantly be delayed for few more weeks than a standard offering as due to extreme demand lenovo is having intermittent problem outsourcing this particilar resolution.
Please also note lenovo does not manufacture lcd screens.
