What is an L-claim product?

I'm looking for a T60p with 15in UXGA Flexview screen, did a search on ebay and found some, but they were stated as L-claim products. What is an L-claim product? And do they have any disadvantage comparing to the brand new products directly ordered from lenovo? Thanks

L-claim is a term made by that reseller on ebay, if you ask him he will tell you, "items returned directly to lenovo".

Eric:

You might want to have a look in the recent thread: IBM Factory Refurbished Units - Safe to buy? where this issue (L-claim), amongst other things, has been discussed (see the post of Fri Nov 09, 2007 5:59 pm and the links pointed to therein).

If I were you, I would much rather consider posting a "WTB ("want to buy") thread in the Marketplace in this forum, in stead of "gambling" at eBay. There (at the Marketplace), you will find far more knowledgeable sellers, and this is absolutely highly worth the effort. I have seen 15" UXGA FlexView/IPS T60p's go there for around $1200 very recently.

As you may perhaps not know, FlexView/IPS T60/p ThinkPad's are no longer available directly from Lenovo; they were discontinued this spring. Your only choice is to find them used or refurbished.

Best regards,

Johan
