I've just replaced my beloved T42 with a T61 7664.

And i was wondering if it's possible to undervolting the T61?

I have tried NHC but the options are grayed out.
Is there at way to activate this og isn't is just not possible to do this with NHC ?

At what speed are you trying to undervolt? Have you tried RMClock?

0.95v is the minimum. Same for core 2 duo.

Yes but only at the lowest multiplier...Currently only RMClock is compatible with T6x.

[OT] Generally after studying many threads on this forum it seems that people are not interested in undervolting CPU. On the other hand lots of them complain about heat and noise issue... Weird... It's so important to reduce power consumption because power~heat (simply speaking of course). I have been using NHC for three years (with HP nx61110 and nx7400) and I was more than satisfied with the results - apart from longer battery runtime, in both of them normal work (browsing web, word, excel, cad) was fanless! Now I'm waiting for new version of NHC (much more user friendly then Rmclock).

I was asking the same questions some weeks ago and there was no reply... . Then I thought that people are not simply interested with the subject, but now I see that they don't have foggiest idea about undervolting...not even what is the voltage of CPU they are using (vide post of mattbiernat).

It's like asking the man at the gas station about the carburretor - the guy is "working" with cars but it doesn't mean he knows how they work

skyracer.dk you are on your own -> try Rmclock or search on thinkpad-forum.de, or forum for the NHC users. I'm waiting for the updated version of NHC.

i wouldn't say "foggiest" but yeah i am new to undervolting. the thing is that I tried doing it half a year ago with NHC but that didn't work.
I would be more than happy if you could enlighten me and other forum members on how to undervolt T6x effectively.

First of all there must be a need. If you are happy with the current state of your system, don't change it.

If you are experiencing issues like CPU overheating, high temperature of chassis, fan noise, short battery life etc. try RMclock. The NHC is not working for T6x (according to my search on many forums in US, Germany and Poland).

There is no need to "enlighten" anybody, we are forum members and we share and solve problems together.
