DVD Playback Choppy with T61P???

I received my new T61P a few weeks ago. Traveled with my notebook on a recent business trip and this was my first attempt at watching a DVD. The video playback was choppy at best - although watcheable the voices were not quite in sync. My machine specs:

T7500 @ 2.2GHZ
2.19GHZ, 3 GB of RAM (1 GB factory, Added Patriot 2GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Notebook Memory)

NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M 512MB - Driver 6.14.11.5679

Windows XP Professional

Updated the WinDVD software to the latest version available from Lenovo.

Thought issue might be related to power conservation while working from battery but encountered the same results when using the power adapter.

Has anyone else experienced this problem and found a reasonable solution?

Thanks to all!

Make sure your DVD player is using DMA mode. See the following thread.

This used to be a problem with some T60s ... The issue was caused by the ATI software causing refresh rate reduction (to conserve power). You might want to check if the nvidia software has any such option checked by default.

Disable Nvidia Powermizer in Nvidi Control Panel. It solved the problem for me (Win XP prof)
