You should add a few more options, for example T60/T60p, T40x series. Then we'll get a bigger picture. Let's engage in some spec-bonding. 8)
15-inch Core 2 Duo ThinkPad T60p | Ivy-Bridge (Late-2012) Mac mini w/ quad Core i7-3615QM 2.3GHz, 16GB DDR3-1600MHz RAM, 240GB+180GB Intel 520 Series SATA III SSD's, 5x3TB Drobo 5D

Surprisingly, T61p is leading! Is it real?

I'm sorry, but I would like to compare between two newest ThinkPad T series.

Not to worry. It was just a suggestion. ;)

I have to admit I opted for the T61p instead of the T61 because of the NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M :D
T61P 6459CTO - WSXGA+, Core 2 Duo T7500, 2 GB DDR2-667 RAM, 200 GB 7200RPM 7K200 HDD, NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M 256MB, Arctic Silver 5, NMB keyboard

Unbelievable, The only difference is the video card, but the price is 30-50% more or even more than that, but still there lots people willing to get it.

Or, perhaps T61p has lots of errors so the owners have to visit this forum to get updated news :)

Another vote cast for the T61p. Don't care much about the battery life since my machine spends 99% of its life peacefully resting in the advanced mini dock hooked up to AC (but have the 9 cell for occasional airplane use).
HP DV8t | Intel i7-Q 720 | 6GB (DDR3 1333) RAM | 1 TB (500GB Seagate 7200 rpm x2)| GeForce GT 230M (1GB) | 18.4" FHD | SuperMulti 8X w Lightscribe | FP Reader | Bluetooth | HDTV Tuner | Win 7 Ultimate x64. Backup: T61p (8891-CTO)
