Will 2GB memory stick work in my T60 ?

I have a T60 200772u model with 1.5 GB of memory .I found a good deal on a Patriot 2GB stick .Can I replace the .5GB stick with a 2GB ?The model is below .Will there be any problems ?Will I notice a diffrence in performance .I mostly use my T60 to edit and convert MPG to DVD files .
