is anyone here running an external CRT with ati mobility v5250 video card?

anyone getting a decent resolution and refresh rate?

my driver's up to date, and i can't even get an option of 1152 x 864, but i can get above and below, but now with a good refresh rate if above, both the 17" Sony CRT and ATI claim i should be able to do it,

any ideas?

i would buy a newer CRT, but am worried i'll have same problem

thanks!

I am running a 17 in CRT on my T60p, the monitor is a compaq that came with my last desktop computer. It is hooked up through docking station. I am using the windows software (Vista) for external monitor setup and not using Presentation Director (seems glitchy sometimes). My refresh rate is set to 85 hz. I also have the v5250.

When i first upgraded to vista refresh rate was would always default to 60hz when monitor was connected but some updates came out and fixed that problem. Other than, i've never had problems with it.

i can get my sony trinitron to 1400 x 1050, which is higher than the monitor allows for in its specs, but the other options below that are only 1280 x 1024, which isn't the same 4:3 aspect ratio, and 1024 x 768, nothing else in between. what resolution are you running at?

edit: there are other options in between, but they're all widescreen options

I have a T60p with the v5200 hooked up to a 30" Dell driving it at 2560x1600 through DVI.

Not the same as yours, but I'd be surprised if the 5250 weren't capable of the same.
