ThinkVantage Updates/XP System Restore?

I have a T60 running XP/Pro:

I checked ThinkVantage Updates after several months and saw a ThinkPad Wireless LAN Adapter Software (11a/b/g/n) update that looked intriguing. When I got this system in January 2007, a power configuration problem with the wireless card drove me to the brink of sending the computer back. Fortunately, there was a workaround/fix:

Question: If I install these and/or other ThinkVantage updates _after_ setting up a System Restore point in XP, can I undo the changes by going back to the Restore Point? In other words could these updates potentially do something not reversible through a System Restore?

I'd like to keep my system current but I don't want to screw up something that works.

Thanks,

--- Ravi

I suggest you create a backup via ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery which is a better foolproof method than Windows Restore point that can let you down at times when you don't want it to be.
