Sorry, I know this subject has been thrown around incessantly, but is there a definitive consensus of what is the best (cost not a consideration) performing and highly-compatible 2D and 3D PCI Express Dual DVI Digital Link fanless video graphics card for the T61 Advanced Dock, please?

The T61 will mostly be used for 2D business apps, rarely games. However, once in a while some 3D SolidWorks CAD might be attempted.

FWIW, Samsung mentions these for their 30" LDC screen:
Nvidia Geforce 7900GT, GeForce 7800, GeForce 7600, Quadro FX3000 (AGP Type) ATI Radeon X1900XTX, Radeon X1900XT, Radeon X1800XT

My aging eyes thank you!

What operating system will this be for? The answer varies radically depending on whether you're using Vista or XP.

XP, though in about a year, I'll wipe XP and load Vista.

If the cost of buying two cards is less than ~$250.00 and the difference is really that great to justify the added expense(?), I'll buy a new card in the future when loading Vista.

I'm not a gamer, so DVI-D capability, quietness, mostly 2D usage and rock-solid compatiblity, especially with Windows, is paramount.

Thanks!!

Hello T60/61 gurus,

Any chance of getting a few, or one very good, suggestion for a quiet, yet above average DVI-D video card for the Advanced Dock for use with XP and later Vista, please?

Oh, btw, my T61p has the nVIDIA Quadro FX 570M.

Thanks!!
