Make Wireless Connectivity Load Before Logging Into Windows

#1 Post by thesurg3on » Mon Dec 03, 2007 2:50 pm

Hello,

When i boot up my thinkpad, i log in, then i have to wait after all applications have loaded (msconfig >> startup, and services) before my wireless connection connects to the remembered access point.

I find this annoying. I vaguely remember back in the Thinkpad/Windows XP days, the wireless connection would load up in the background before you had to log into the computer. It seemed to connect as a service.

My laptop specs
Thinkpad T61
Intel Pro Wireless ABGN
Windows Vista Ultimate

Any recommendations? Also FYI, I am not using Access connections. They are really flakey on Vista. I am using vista's built in. It seems more stable.

I have Access Connections working very reliably on Vista Business 32, Vista Ultimate 32 and Vista Ulimate 64.

Cheers,

Bill,

Does your wireless connect before you actually log into your machine?

You can test this by installing Logmein, shutting down your computer, unplug the CAT5, boot up, do not log in, try to connect to the computer via logmein.

If so, what tips do you have? Should I install Access Connections again?
