T60 8744-HDG WSXGA+ replace with WXGA, is this Possible?

#1 Post by wayneforrest » Tue Dec 04, 2007 4:37 am

Can one replace the LCD on a
T60 8744-HDG WSXGA+ to a lower resolution one WXGA?

I recently contact IBM Support, and they told me it is not possible.

(The text is too small for me to read, adjusting the DPI is not perfect,
and adjusting the FONTS is not perfect, and adjusting the
resolution is not perfect)

The Best for me is the DPI at 120, but then some programs, are not DPI compatible, some buttons and fonts are not readable,
even Microsoft Visual Source Safe 2005 "fails" at 120DPI.

Thank you.

I tried a similar thing, but ended up buying a different model, which I'm glad I did. Check out this thread:

Although you're wanting to downgrade. There's an application called LiquidView that makes the screen look great even if you don't do what most people think, which is to only ever run your computer in its native (highest) resolution.

Hope that helps. ;)
