Will my warranty cover this?

I have the 3 year accidental damage warranty. I also bought the in-depot repair.
After removing my DVD from my ultrabay i noticed that the little tab you use to pull it out will no longer go back "into" my laptop. it sticks out. I think the spring or something is broken.
Will my warranty cover this issue?
Like i said. I bought the in-depot repair. I tried phoning the depots in my city. 2 didn't answer. 1 told me i had to leave my laptop with them while they ordered in the part. I said that wasn't acceptable and they tried to charge me 95$/hr for a rush. Can i report these guys? This doesn't seem to be the warranty i paid like $400 for.

This should be covered without any additional charge.
I can understand not being without your ThinkPad for any period of time. Maybe they can order the part and you can come back and then wait while they install it.

Call 1-800-IBM-SERV and tell them your problem. Chances are they will send out a new drive to you directly.
Two months ago I had a problem witht he eject button on my DVD drive. They sent out a new one, covered by warranty, and I received it the next day.
I'm guessing that the 800 number will work for Canada, but I'm not positive.

Thanks for the advice. That's what I asked them to do. I was willing to give them the serial number of my laptop and everything, but they still said they wouldn't do it with out holding my laptop.
then they said they could do it, but would charge me for it.
Shady.
Can I complain to anyone about this? Seems if they are an "authorized repair depot" lenovo would be [censored] about them treating their customers this way. Reflects poorly on them.
Reason I ask is because i'm going to be traveling abroad and will have to deal with various repair depots across the globe. I want to understand the repair procedure, so that i don't get ripped off.

I hope this clears up some of your confusion:
lenovo wrote:Courier or Depot Service:
You will disconnect the failing Machine for collection arranged by your Service Provider. A shipping container will be provided to you for you to return your Machine to a designated service center. A courier will pick up your Machine and deliver it to the designated service center. Following its repair or exchange, the service center will arrange the return delivery of the Machine to your location. You are responsible for its installation and verification.

from what you said, i think your optical drive latch is broken, so you will need new base cover, and i think the plastic part they will repair under warranty, just call easy serv number get the box and sent them in for replacement.

twas the base cover. IBM wouldn't send me one that I could bring to the shop and have them install it. The shop wouldn't order me one with out charging me or holding my laptop.
I ended up fixing it myself. It seems the drive latch got out of it's rail guides and i had to snap it back into place with some force. It's working perfect now.
And remember, if your wife doesn't find you handsome, she should at least find you handy.
thanks for all the help with this guys. Much appreciated.
