Problems Ghosting T60

#1 Post by gattsi » Thu Dec 06, 2007 2:38 pm

I am using Norton Ghost 12.0 to do a drive copy of my T60* directly to a USB connected SATA drive 100gb 7200. The only options I have checked when doing this are:
Set drive active (for booting OS)
Copy MBR

The newly imaged drive is then put in a different T60 (same spec) and booted. All I see is a black screen and blinking cursor.
If I interrupt the boot by hitting the ThinkVantage button I end up with a Rescue & Recovery Workspace Logon prompting for Windows credentials. My current Windows logon does not work, nor anything else under the sun. All attempts get met with:

The requested operation requires password authentication, but you do not have a password configured. Please configure a password and retry the operation.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on here?

FWIW, I use the Apricorn Cloning kit and the only way that I can produce a bootable clone is to clone FROM the external (USB) drive TO the drive mounted IN the laptop.
