A workaround for T61p graphics issue?

hi guys. I know maybe I should not open a new topic, but I seems to have found something, and I'd like to share.
I am using a T61p, and I have all kinds of graphic issue as people mentioning. but recently I found a way to inprove the situation, or at least make it reasonable. The problem should be still there, but less frequently.

1.This only applies to those programs that can start and run for a while( more than 1 minute if less than that, it's compability issue)
2.make at least three times of defragmentation to ensure that every file related is defragmented
3.leave the system idle until the hard drive light is totally off(it will happen after a long wait)
4.go on and try.

At first, I was using with 2g memory, and 156.66 driver. When I try games, the blue screen and shut down comes. I was about to give up. but the next day when i tried again, situation improved a little bit. I was doing many times of defragmentation during the interval time.(Why are there so many fragments every time after installation...)

Then I thought there maybe a chance I can run games. so I changed to the driver provided by lenovo. It's slow driver, but at least it can work. I experience a freeze/lag/shutdown every 40 minutes (not too unreasonable if you consider it as an anti addiction method ). in fact, why it can work, is just due to that the system can restart the nonresponding driver in that old driver.

Then I tried FEAR. I can run it not so smoothly, but for 40 minutes as usual, and freeze happens when during play loading happens(single player FPS games always do that). So I thought, any way I'm going to experience freeze, why not try the new driver. so I used the latest provided by microsoft(156.66, not that fancy new ones by other sites). quality improves, and freeze remains. so this is sometimes not a driver issue. I noticed this relation between hard disk working , and make sure to defrag hard disk every time before playing, and have finished COD4 this way.

finally, i found a good deal in dell selling OCZ's 800MHz 2*2G kit. I bought it, and installed. up untill now, nothing ever happened again, and I am still trying( by playing a long time of course ).

so currently, my setup is 6457CTO, 7K200 100G, 7500, 4G, running at 667MHz, 4-5-5-13, graphic driver 156.66.

For your reference, games I've tried are:
BF2142,COD4(finished single player), FEAR, Timeshift, HL2 and STALKER
Heros5 led to shut down instantly, and i have not tried it again.

so, that's why I gave my suggestions. it won't be a real solution, but with more memory and more resources which decreases hard disk loading(including pagefile read/write), the situation is improved, at least for me.
