Atheros in Windows 2003 x86

#1 Post by sugo » Sun Dec 09, 2007 1:16 am

I am trying to get atheros wifi to work on a T61 running windows 2003 sp2. After installing the driver, it says error starting the device (code 10). Has anyone experienced the same issue?

Thanks for any insight.

I got a Code 10 error last week after a failed firmware patch installation. Ended up having to replace my adapter. More details at the following thread...

Hopefully you didn't install from the same link that I did, but the "Code 10" error sounded familiar, and that firmware update really toasted my Atheros adapter.

i got the same error when trying to set up my atheros a/b/g card under server 2003.   it works fine under vista 64, vista 32, and XP though.   i tried around eight different drivers from IBM/lenovo and none of them worked.

since it works under vista and XP, i believe that the problem is in the driver and not the card itself.

the only solution i know of right now is to install an intel card as both the ABG and ABGN cards have been reported to work.   i have an atheros a/b/g/n card on the way and will report back if i get it to work under 2003.

Thanks for the replies. It does look like a driver issue. I am surprised that Atheros as a company totally ignores windows server 2003 on driver support.
