Lucky to find this forum. I'v got my T61p laptop for 1 month. I do want to say it's an amazing thing, except for a strange problem. When the memory usage comes up to about 1.03 G, some background process crashed, at the same time, system makes "Dang Dang" sound out. Another problem, when I click standby or close the screen down or recover from standby, the same situation also occurs. Does anyone of u suffer from this issue? Any advice is highly appreciated.

Which Operating System?
Feed more memory to your machine if you've Windows Vista (clue Ding Ding perhaps) installed, install a registry cleaner to clean your registry and follow the given tips to improve performance of your machine:
Windows Vista Performance tips.

XP pro+sp2 is actually what I'm using. I have 2 X 1G sticks in my system. I don't think it's caused by lack of memory. Puzzling ...

Hey,
Did this just start occuring?
We can only suggest but how about:
...using a good antispyware like spysweeper, update and run
...using antivirus....update and run
...defragment hard drive
Also:
...before the crash, look at your processes to see which has the high cpu level? sort by high cpu and monitor
Let us know how you progress.

I have Norton installed since the first use. This problem occurs rather randomly when high memory is used, and definitely when I click standby or recorver from standby. Is it caused by Norton or any other stuff like the Video card driver? BTW, I'm using 570M 256M, driver version 6.14.11.5666 from Lenovo SU.

Also, when I close Skype, an error message could be thrown out sometimes, saying something like "access to memory address xxx denied, address xxx read only". Will this help to diagnose this issue? Just ran through latest PC doctor from lenovo, everything looks pretty OK.
