Well, Lenovo didnt specifically say there were two R52 chipsets and I got a 400mhz unit. Guess I will pop a 1.4 pentium in there and sell her back out on ebay to recoupe, but, now I am thinking T60.

What do I need to be aware of on these things so I dont get tripped up like I did on the R52? Thanks.

MOD EDIT: Moved from X6x series to T6x.

What are you looking for specifically? A 667 Mhz?

R52's were a little tricky. If someone didnt point them out here, I would have never known, and trust me, I did try to research them. I didnt know I would have to dig soooooo deep, thats crazy, lol. All in all, it was just a little thought running in my head, but, A) what is the duo offering and most importantly, how many versions of the T60 are there? I am not talking about CPU's and such, but, the main stuff, like how many different motherboards, video cards, screens..... etc. Mostly, what changes are hiding in them most people would never know.

Once I know what the T60's are about, then I can see how long I want to wait for them, and if they are really special :)

All T60's have 667MHz bus. The R52 was a budget line, and to make it as cheap as possible, some models used more primitive processors.

The best way to get more info about the T60 is to download the tabook from ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pcinstitute/psref/

As you'll see, all T60's are not the same. Screen type is especially diverse.

Thank you so much. I wish I could find these things easier so I didnt have to bug you all as much with my mundane questions, but, thanks again. :)
