PC Card Slot & Express Card Slot & Smart Card Slot?

Basic question:

PC Card Slot & Express Card Slot
PC Card Slot & Smart Card Slot

I'm not sure what to make of these, is PC Card Slot the same as what once was called PCMCIA? (For some reason the on-line help/explanation on the page isn't poping up)

What about the other two? What would be a good choice to specify when configuring the T61? What would you recommend?

Main use for T61 will be coding, writing, web surfing.

Thanks,
Esmail
ps: feel free to ignore if this is too elementary a question.

PC card slot can take either PC card (32 bit) or PCMCIA cards (16 bit).

Express card is the new standard as a replacement for the aged PC card stanard.

Smart card slot reads ... smart card. It's mostly used an ID card for secure authentication. If you don't use smart card don't choose this option.

I recommend PC Card Slot & Express Card Slot as it allows maximum flexibility.
