T60 bluetooth card swap possible?

I ordered a new T60 15" on the recent promo, but they ran out of bluetooth daughtercards. I have a T60 14" w/Bluetooth and am wondering if its possible to swap the Bluetooth cards. The manual seems to say that I need to swap the LED panel on the display panel too, is that true? I am reluctant to do that. So, would an authorized service center do that?

You'd need to swap in the Bluetooth MDC card and the clearplates. They are nothing more than stickers that can be moved between machines. Use an exacto knife to grab an edge and pull up. Is your 15" T60 Bluetooth ready? In other words is there a free antenna wire next to the BMDC slot? If not, you'd also have to swap in the antenna. That would require disassembling the LCD assm. on the both T60's. You can't swap LCD panels, they are different sizes.

What's a clearplate? The LED icons below the LCD screen? It seems that the 14" icon strip is shorter than the 15" icon strip.

Yes there's a clearplate below the LCD and another on top of the lid. They may be different sizes. You'd have to look at lenovo.com in the parts manuals for each machine to see if they are the same part#'s or not.
