power manager settings for ultra bay battery

#1 Post by IDreamOfT61 » Fri Dec 28, 2007 12:35 am

Hello,

I have an ultra bay battery for my T61 (T7500, 7200rpm HD, X3100, 4965AGN, 14.1 wxga+ , 4cell main batt)

Unfortunately, when I am on battery, it appears that the ultrabay battery is drained first and then the main battery is used.
Since the ultra bay battery is Li-Poly, draining it all the way down shortens the battery life over time.

I was wondering if there is some way to switch from the ultra bay to the main battery when the charge in the ultrabay drops below some threshold (say 10%).

Is this possible at all?

I don't believe it is which kind of sucks, but that's the way it is.

:(

I guess then the only way is to monitor the battery manually on power manager and disconnect when the charge falls below threshold.
