Sync T60 and x61?

I have been toying with the idea of getting a new x61, since they have a great sale with the academic price (it ends tomorrow).
I currently have a t60, with which I am very satisfied. I would leave the T60 more at home and could carry the x61 to my office.

My only concern is if there is a fool-proof way to sync them so that the settings and (or at least) the files are always the same. I know I can sync my files with a flash drive or some such solution, but is there a program or method that might help me sync the two computers without extraneous devices?

As always, thanks for any advice or input.

I do something similar with rsync.

You can tunnel it through ssh if you're worried about security too!

I use SyncToy from Microsoft, works well:

I second synctoy. Extremely small footprint, works wonderful, and so easy to setup. It doesnt sync settings though, but I find that its probably better that way for me... I really dont want my travel companion to be running the power hungry settings of my main desk machine, even if they are both laptops. But file syncing works great, only thing I would like is some sort of file integrity check because I have several older syncs (not on synctoy however) that got corrupted somewhere down the line.

In any event, Im also looking at the x60s/x61s but unless they really come down like that $399 z deal, I dunno if I can afford it being a student! :D
