Happy New Years Folks!
Any idea what a WWAN Verizon EVDO Rev. A Mini PCI internal card is worth? The retail price of this adapter from IBM is $609.
I think it is used, but it comes with a 30-day warranty from seller. The seller is always top notch and really knows their stuff.

Have a look at this: Lenovo Thinkpad 42T0929 Verizon EVDO Rev. A T61/X61 L5 or IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad WWAN EVDO Card 39T5664/41W1177 L6¦¦ seller is:
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Dragon-On-The-Edge - possibly what your looking for (?)
Can anyone point me to a online retailer who can supply an unlocked Sierra Wireless AirCard MC8780 PCI-e.
Happy New Year to all

On lenovo.com, the option is $250 when buying a new CTO model. For a brand new one, with warranty, and guaranteed to work (re. BIOS). Where are you getting $600+ from??? What about this?

Folks, thanks on the BIOS tip.
Neither one of the ebay listing mentions Rev A support, but I have sent the seller an email. Thanks again.

You don't mention which machine you're planning to install it on, if it's thinkpad T60p then it's BIOS wouldn't accept Rev A model (MC5725) card.

Any idea if the BIOS can be updated to accept the Rev A WWAN card?

Without a successful hack of some sort or lenovo's allowing you to use it with an updated version of BIOS, unlikely.
Few members in X6x forum were trying to get in touch with no-1802 author who had reported to be agreed to look into this matter once BIOS dump is provided to him:
CONFIRMATION: 1804 with WWAN swap.
