T61p with 14" display (FX 570 with 128MB RAM)

I'm running a T60p right now with the ATI chipset. VERY happy with the ability to drive my 30" Dell monitor at native 2560x1600 through the advanced mini dock DVI.

However, I will be getting a new notebook in the near future (and passing this one on to family) and was hoping to go a little lighter -- say a T61p with the 14" display. Question is: can the FX570 with only 128MB of RAM drive my 30" monitor at native resolution? Anyone out there doing this today?

Many thanks.

a GF2 MX can drive a monitor that high. If a R50P has a 15" LCD at 2536 x 1600 (or whatever Pianowizard is running) the yeah, you shouldn't need to worry about that.

GeForce2 MX 400 64MB MAX resoluton = 2048 x 1536

That was what, 6 years ago? Granted a 2560 x 1600 is pretty high i'm sure any newer system can handle that.

Thanks for the quick response. Just found this on the NVIDIA site for the NVS 140M specs which gives me what I needed to know:

"Dual-link DVI (TMDS) Support for Highest Resolution Digital Displays Additionally dual-link transmitters enable driving the industry's latest, large and high resolution flat-panel displays up to 2560x1600."
