Possible to increase brightness on T61p without battery?
Possible to increase brightness on T61p without battery?
There is a marked increase in brightness if battery is in and computer is plugged in, is it possible to achieve this higher brightness if there is not a battery in the computer (while plugged in)?
thanks in advance,
Liam

wait, really? that's weird.... hmm... well did you try to change the setting from NORMAL to HIGH in the BIOS or ThinkVantage Power Manager software?
AT first i read your qestion wrongly but i didn't think that was the case if the battery is not in but the AC is in.

I don't think so.Liamo0o wrote:yes but when the battery is connected and AC is in it really hurts the battery.....snip
Li-ion batteries likes to be charged often than getting not charged or deep discharged.
Discharge methods quoted from Battery University.Battery University wrote:Manufacturers rate the lithium-ion battery at an 80% depth of discharge. Repeated full (100%) discharges would lower the specified cycle count. It is therefore recommended to charge lithium-ion more often rather than letting it discharge down too low. Periodic full discharges are not needed because lithium-ion is not affected by memory.
Lithium and lead-based batteries do not require a periodic full discharge. In fact, it is better not to discharge them too deeply but charge them more often. Using a larger battery is one way to reduce the stress on a battery.
