T61p Ricoh 4-in-1 Causing BSOD

#1 Post by biohazard2k » Fri Jan 04, 2008 10:15 am

Hello,

I used to be able to use my 4-in-1 card reader just fine in Vista 32-bit, but recently I installed Vista 64-bit and now every time I insert a xD picture card into the reader my computer gives me the notorious BSOD. Sometimes it BSOD's right away after inserting the card, and other times I need to write about 100mb of data before it gives me the BSOD.

Either way, I downloaded the latest driver for Vista 64, but I'm still having this problem.

After that I thought I might have had just a bad xD card as SD cards work just fine. But when I inserted another xD card it instantly gave me BSOD.

So to sum it all up, I get BSOD when I use the xD cards in the reader, but not SD cards.

Have any of you heard this? Any suggestions for me?

Have the exact same issue, with xd cards. Only seems to happen in Vista64, and not XP 32bit.

haven't tried using SD cards with VIsta 64 either.

Yes, I really believe this is a driver issue.
Especially seeing that it worked fine in Vista32, but not 64.
I'm wondering if it's using the wrong driver such as the 32bit instead of the 64bit.

I really hope Lenovo comes up with a solution for this as it's really annoying to lose all your work when you're trying to grab a photo.

I doubt this will be a priority with them as there are few people actually using xD cards.

HELP!
