Stuttering DVD playback T61 (Nvidia Quadro NVS 140M)

#1 Post by Rundelight » Fri Jan 11, 2008 8:17 am

I have a 15" (1680x1050) T61 with the NVidia Quadro NVS 140M graphics card, running on XP Pro.

When I tried to play a dvd I noticed playback stuttering a lot, this occurred in both Intervideo WinDVD and Windows Media Player.

I am running the latest driver from Lenovo home page for the grapihcs card

Version: 6.14.11.5666
Release Date: 2007/10/04

Any body else expericing the same poor performance or perhaps even have a solution?

Kind regards
Rundelight

In the Device manager the primary IDE channel has

for device 0 a selection that says:

Transfer mode:DMA if available

And then

Current transfer mode: Ultra DMA mode 2

for device 1 a selection that says:

Transfer mode:DMA if available

And then

Current transfer mode: Not applicable

So it seems like the DMA is enabled

Any one seeing the same with a Nvidia card?
