Hey all, I just got the T7600 delivered yesterday. I'm back in the U.S. because of an sudden, unexpected death of my friend, and I haven't had time to mess with it. The same goes for the 2x2GB dual channel chips, which are also lying around here. I want to do some speed (benchmark?) tests before I install everything. Any suggestions (e.g. install the CPU first or the RAM, and test each upgrade component?). I guess I'd like to see how much of a difference each components makes. I won't know which did what in terms of increased performance if I install them all at the same time.
I'll have my house sitter wanna-be send me the n-cards next week. I'm in the Phila. tri-state area (NJ/PA/DE) and will be here for about three more weeks. I really don't want to mess up my beloved screen over a stupid draft n-card, so should I bother with the N card at all? The card itself wouldn't be a problem, but what about the screen? To what, if applicable, extent do I have to disassemble it for the antenna? What about using one of the existing antennas (like the A or B, or WWAN antennas??).
I have a feeling this is a dumb question, but I really don't care if it is. I just want to know.
Thanks everyone!

Well, if you want to do benchmarking after each component, you should obviously install the RAM first, because you can easily remove it (unlike the CPU). Benchmark. Remove. Then install the CPU. Benchmark. Re-install the RAM.

Hi Cruch,
If you already have a WWAN card installed in your T60p, then you will not be able to install the 3rd WLAN Antenna as it needs to go where the existing WWAN antenna is situated within the LCD bezel - (See HMM) - However if the WWAN Antenna and 3rd WLAN Antenna are cable that simply terminates to a piece of bare metal (encapsulated or other) at the LCD end and you decide that you do not need your WWAN, divert the (Main) WWAN antenna (Red) cable carefully to your newly installed WLAN N card as it should be long enough to reach back (also tuck any excess away carefully) - this will save you disturbing your LCD bezel
I would like to know if the MAIN and AUX cable were just installed on the WLAN N card, therefore leaving out the 3rd WLAN Antenna - How much would the wireless reception be affected: ie RF Sensitivity (Tx & RX), attenuation, distance, damage to the card etc.
