somewhat related, does Lenovo offer any sort of price protection? ie if I price out my current system and it comes out cheaper could I get some money back assuming my system is less than a month old?

(maybe just being an optimist :-) )

---

just found this:

Price Protection

If you find a lower price within 21 days after your purchase, you can call to get a price match done.

Price Quotes
Do everything you would do when ordering excepting when you get to the last page, do not submit order and select "Convert to Price Quote" instead. Save the Price Quote order number and present it to a customer service rep within 30 days to convert the price quote into an order.

so, has anyone does this?

is the deadline 21 days or 30 days?

Thanks.

How about the specs as stated above with 3 yrs warranty at USD$1060? Would you buy it?

No, for 2 reasons. With the current sale, for $200 more you can get the same machine brand new from Lenovo, but with 1GB RAM and a 2GHz Core 2 Duo processor. Secondly, I don't like wide sceen, so that would kill the deal for me.

i think for $1000 it's a good buy but is that a new system or someone's can't return without the 15% restocking fee buy? hehe... if so then $900 and he has a deal.

Hmm... the processor will be upgraded to T7250 & ram to 2GB for free.

Apparently, this retailer were supposed to bring these batch of laptops in for a certain client but the particular client decided to get another model... Hence the clearance price lol...

Too bad, I can't justify the purchase :(
