Presentation Director won't work

New T61 Lenovo build (use cloning GHOST)

Presenation director starts ok but when you try ANY profile you get this error:
Present display setup is not supported
if you remove presentation director then you can toggle modes but can't set resolutions. The nvidia control panel works. Don't usually test remote monitors unless someone has one and just noticed this issue, updated to latest P dir and removed and reinstalled no luck. Any ideas? thanks
