When I changed from my T60p w/SXGA+ to my new T60p w/UXGA...

...I thought I was also getting the faster 7,200rpm drive. Did I get ripped off? LOL...The ebay seller I got it from is so honest, genuine, and a great person, that I can't fathom the possibility the he might have done anything other than tell the truth. He even took a risk by shipping it to me when I was overseas. It cannot be him. No way.

This would be supported by what Lenovo's website. Looking up 2007-94u, which is the machine I have, also shows 7,200rpm!!?? I have been bagging on Lenovo quite a bit lately, and this is yet another inconsistency. I was wondering why the WEI hadn't changed from 4.5, as my other T60p did have 5,400rpm. Now that I re-rated it, it went from a 4.5 to 4.6...I figured it would give me a little higher number than that being that drive is both TWICE as large, and also faster at 7,200rpm, which, as I said, I was under the impression I had had a higher speed already. I was surprised to see 5,400rpm written all over the drive. :(

What do you guys think? WEI only changing by 1/10th of a percentage point, and the Lenovo...ummm..."misprint"???

The WEI for my 7200rpm drive is 5.3. It definitely sounds like you have a 5400rpm drive.
Apathy is on the rise, but nobody seems to care.

You can get the model number of your hard drive in the control panel, and then you can use Google to find out what exact model it is. WEI is not a very accurate tool.

Also, did the seller mention anything about the hard drive on the ebay item description? If you do get a 5400rpm machine while he/she only listed the model of the machine without specifically the rpm of the HDD, I guess you are ripped off.

What? I get a 4.6 with a 7200 drive. Until I get my second 200GB 7200 drive, I still have the 5400 one in the Ultrabay. It checks the PRIMARY hard drive, , though, right? Well, I installed the 200GB 7200 (I checked it out, it says 7200 all over it!) where the main HD goes, and it only increased to 4.6!??? My 100GB 5400 drive is "present" though, so does it also take it into consideration??? Although I removed the drive when I did a re-rate with only the 7200 one present.

Also, the RAM didn't go up AT ALL (4.9), even though I DOUBLED IT from 2GB to 4GB. Taking the 3GB limitation into account, it should go up I figure with that still being 50% more???

Arghhh...Am I missing a small detail here or what? Thanks!

To dickeywan: I got the new 200GB directly from Lenovo, and it says 7200 all over it...??? :?

Just pull the drive and look at it. It will say on the drive. If its not the drive supposed to be there, then lenovo should replace it.
