Well you're not the first, but I tried to investigate it in the past, and the strings which should identify the virus are not present in the actual file. Seems the detections appear after making a change to .iso file with MagicISO. Not sure why.

X200 works w. DELL Sprint 5720 MiniCard EVDO XM359
Thank you so much Zender,
I used the "untested" 6DET33WW 1.10 update, and I must say it was scary to see the boot message
Anyway, I have now a fully working, w/o taping of pin 20, DELL Sprint 5720 Mobile Broadband PCI Express® Mini Card EVDO XM359 (found on eBay for $45) on a ThinkPad X200 model: 7454-CTO - Windows XP SP3
It was also hazzelfree to get it activated with Sprint (on-line registration as a Novatel Wireless-Merlin 725 - the "Secondary 6-digit code" is the Activation Code (MSL)).
Thanks also to NIN2001, who supplied the drivers
http://www.thinkpads.com/forum/viewtopi ... 8&p=477258
It also shows up with the Fn+F5.
The Access Connection instruction needed some tweaking though, the hardware ID didn't show as VEN/DEV, but as;I assumed the numbers 413C corresponded to VEN and the 8134 to DEV, and got it working by modifying the AcAdaptersInfo.dll in accordance with Zenders recommendation, no change was made to ACon.dll.
Sorry for all edits, but I progress reported in small steps.

However, according to the Lenovos BIOS update site, this is a Lenovo issue that should be fixed in the next update...ERROR

Hi - Dobry Dien Zender,
Please let me know how safe using the patch will be for my X300 (ie. 20% chance something will go wrong), i mean only a rough approximation that will help me make up my mind. I've gone through the whole topic but being a very ordinary computer user I must admit I can't make much out of it.
Kind regards,
Kris

Re: T6x BIOS device whitelist (error 1802/1804) [solved]
Have been able to update to the modded X60 Tablet 1.15 BIOS on my 6363-A7G ThinkPad.
I'm now succesfully using my Stock Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN card in N mode on an Airport extreme with 8.0211n running.
Many thanks for this.
I'll still be trying to use the hardware ID hack on the Intel Wireless Card, to esnure I can get future BIOS updates, but for now I'm more then happy !

Re: T6x BIOS device whitelist (error 1802/1804) [solved]
I am happy to announce, that I just flashed Zenders Version of the 2.19 Bios on my X61s 7668-CTO and did not brick it.
So far, the MC8790 is not recognized by either OS (WinXP-Device Manager or Linux lspci, lsusb)
The WWAN card is activated in ->security->IO-Ports
So I will now go on to tape pin 20.
Would it be save to flash the bios splash with this bios?

I get this info when I try to flash bios on my T43 2668-CTO: "An update is not necessary at this time. ..." after I select Update system program.
What am I doing wrong?

Re: T6x BIOS device whitelist (error 1802/1804) [solved]
Am awaiting Zender's reply. I suppose he has been inundated since starting this project. Anyway, I have a X61 tablet that I'm trying to get a Sierra 5725 in. I ordered it new with a Sierra 8775 and took out AT&T service, but the nearest tower is 25 miles from here and it's a no-go. Both cards were OEM options--it infuriates me that I can't swap in "the other" option without a bios error. Can anyone hook me up? I'm running the latest bios, 1.22. This is my only option for internet service. Thanks in advance.
Re: T6x BIOS device whitelist (error 1802/1804) [solved]
I have an R52 that was having an issue with the wireless adapter staying connected to a G router. Recently I ordered a replacement Intel P/N: PA3375U-1MPC. The install resulted in the dreaded 1802 error. After doing some research, it is evident that I did not get an original replacement part. Has anyone had any success in fixing the 1802 error on R52 with one of Zender's BIOS versions?
Re: T6x BIOS device whitelist (error 1802/1804) [solved]
Can anyone help me out here? This is my only option for internet service and I'm paying for service not being used. I don't want to be rude, as I very much appreciate the efforts, but I've been waiting a couple of weeks now and need to determine whether or not this is going to work. Thanks.

Re: T6x BIOS device whitelist (error 1802/1804) [solved]
If you have the Lenovo specific configuration the Sierra 5725 card you can use it without getting a error from a standard Lenovo BIOS. If you have any other type of Sierra 5725 you will get the 1802 error.gicos wrote:Both cards were OEM options--it infuriates me that I can't swap in "the other" option without a bios error.
In terms of the modified BIOS, you just have to wait until Zender can respond to you..... neither Zender or ThinkPads.com are commercial support services. Alternatively you can try and get hold of the correct Lenovo Field Replaceable Unit (FRU) Sierra 5725.
Cheers,

I have successfuly installed an mc8775 (hp2300) card in my x61 after flashing mod bios, can't thank you enough Zender.
wanted to add my feedback to your cahrt, can't find it anymore.
Also looking for the ac dll's patching hints and tools but your site was shut down, any new address to find it?
Wish I could see the wwan connection with fn f5 and ac.
