Hi all, and guess what I am going to ask... (will) have a T60 and have a desire to use a non-Lenovo wireless card. Can someone pm the necessary link/file/info.

Assume its a generic patch, and not dependent on the precise model of T60 and/or wireless card? (I admit, I haven't read the 20+pages of this thread)

Good Zender is probably busy. :)

I sent him a PM for T61-6465CTO and R61-8932CTO a few days ago for Intel 5300 cards.

Please since these are very common models, can anyone please PM me a link for Zender's no-1802/1804 BIOSs? Staring at a couple Intel 5300 wifi cards yelling for attention, I keep telling those cards that Zender will make them happy... :P

Thanks everyone for any help! Please PM me with info...

Meanwhile, check your PM. : )

Zender BIOS is great. T61 and R61 with 5300 Intel cards work awesome, way faster that my previous Intel 4965AGN (Lenovo Intel AGN) or Atheros AR5BXB6 (Lenovo ABG Wifi Link). Previously, on the old crippled Intel-N it maxed at 130Mb on a DIR-655, now I get solid zippy 300Mb. Totally feel a difference and the CPU utilization is way lower on transfers. Also, I had the problem whereas the Atheros chipset can cause other Wifi chipsets (include my 4965AGN) to experience horrible drops and errors. It was really sad, I was on the latest versions and updates on both and still periodically I had to reset the Atheros network card from causing other laptops connections' to drop in performance. I was in conference meetings where I'd have to turn off my Atheros because the ping times would skyrocket on other people's laptops. I'd turn off the Lenovo ABG Wifi Link, and magic, everyone else recovers and the ping times go consistently normal. I used to blame it on Intel, Atheros sucks! I've only read a couple times in forums complaining about Atheros' effects on other Wifi devices. I lived it for many months.

Long live Zender!

my x60 has a built-in evdo wwan card from verizon which i have replaced with sierra wireless mc8781, supported by zender bios.
ever since i replaced the factory-installed card with the one from sierra (non-lenovo), the wwan radio button in thinkvantage access connection had gone leaving only wireless and bluetooth radio on/off setting.

using 3G watcher application from sierra give me full control of the radio on/off setting, therefore i've been using it.

is there anyway to integrate the wwan card with the access connection back so i can use fn+f5 function again?

There is a lot of info here and i am a bit confused.

My understand from what i have read is that if i want to get the gigabyte wireless card that i bought working in my t60p(2007-84u) I need to install a patched BIOS that zender wrote and tape pin 20. Is that right?

Thanks,
Peter

I've read quite a lot of this post looking for information...

I might have skipped over it, but has anyone tried this with an R61? Have there been any problems with the flashing so far? Hiccups or anything else I should be prepared for? Does this bios flash software come in the form of a bootable cd or does this need to be done through windows? I currently run Ubuntu (as my only OS) and I'm trying to get a friendlier wireless card than the current one I'm using. I sent Zender a message, so when I hear back from him... I suppose I will take the leap or put up with this crappy card that drops constantly.

Hello there. I've been using my R32 for many years, without using WiFi. And recently, my home network turned wireless, and I got a wifi card from a friend of mine. However, to my dismay, I got the 1802 error.

I would like to request the R32 modified bios to work with my wifi card. I wonder if it is needed for me to include my wifi card model too?

Fantastic! I used the modified bios and it worked perfectly! Ubuntu seems to like this new card... so glad to be rid of the old one.

Okay, I am trying something slightly different. Can somebody give me a WWAN white-list removed bios for a T60 2007-5TU? I recently picked up a broadcom crystal HD card that I am trying to get working in the WWAN slot. I don't get any errors, but I don't see it under device manager. I do see the card if I put it in the primary slot though.

I have read that the WWAN slot doesn't always give an 1802 error, but turns off the card there if it is not in the WWAN whitelist. does the WWAN slot have a second whitelist I need to disable?

Is that correct?

I sent Zender a PM almost two weeks ago, I'm sure he's busy.

Meanwhile, does anyone have a link they could PM for the latest X60T BIOS 7JET30WW (1.15). I have upgraded to Windows 7, which by the way fixed my Access Connections instability (mainly loop) problems with using an IBM-branded MC8775 cards, and according to Lenovo I should be using the newest BIOS. 1.12 is running, so this is certainly not an immediate kind of problem.

Thanks.

I had to take the T410 BIOS down, as there seem to have been some changes (from Lenovo) and it does not work properly. Fortunately no brick, but still will take some time to analyze and possibly make a new patch.

Anyone have a patch for a T400s? I am trying to switch from the Ericsson WWAN card (FRU 43Y6537) to the Gobi 200 (FRU 60Y3183) but I keep getting the unauthorized WWAN card error at boot.

Hello everyone!
I've recently bought Lenovo X200 (Type 7455-A54). Before buying a 3G-module (I'm thinking about Sierra MC8775), I'd like to be sure, that I have an antenna required for it to work. How can I find it out?
In my country I can easily buy 3G-module, but antenna I would probably need to purchase from USA :(
Thanks!

Remove the keyboard (and perhaps the palm rest) and look for the Primary WWAN antenna, the RED antenna lead. It comes from the LCD casing, runs along the right edge of the machine, and makes a "left turn" into the area where the WWAN card connects. The WWAN Auxiliary antenna is BLUE and runs next to the WLAN antennas, approximately in the center-right of the machine.

Note: If you see the BLUE, you also have the RED, which is the one you need for the MC8775 (which takes only one antenna connection, the primary).
