If you are installing the Broadcom card in the left hand side PCIe slot (WWAN slot - nearest to the single USB socket/below the Fan Heatsink) - then unfortunately the card will not function. This slot supports USB devices with the PCIe interface.

The top slot (near the LCD connector) supports PCIe signals which are usually WiFi cards like your Broadcom - I currently am using an HP Broadcom BCM94322MC and can confirm it is working a-ok with modified BIOS - (Pin20 not taped).

Hello

I just bought recently a Lenovo X300 with warranty. I want to install HP Sierra MC8775. Can somebody provide me a link for the patched Bios?

Can I flash the bios back to original condition after the patched one?

thank You

I just tried the modified bios on my T60 to install an ATHEROS AR9280 based card, but with no luck. I chose this card because it does wifi N with two antennas and my T60 does not have the third one.

With the card installed and the modified bios there was no error whatsoever, but the card does not show up in the device manager. It is as if it was not installed. I tried taping the pin 20 as well, but that did not have any effect. I also removed the hotkey driver just in case as it may interfere with switching the card on and off. My T60 does not have the second PCIe slot so I cannot try the card there. My existing Intel based card works fine still if I put it back.

So if there are any other ideas to try I'd be grateful for your suggestions.

It could be that the card is dead too and I should just get another one. So if anyone has got AR9280 based card to work let me know how you did it.

Thanks!

hki

PS. maybe I should get Broadcom 4322AGN card as it seems to work for some as I can see from the signature of the previous post.

I've got an x200s with WWAN antennae already installed. Sadly, the all-new Gobi 2000 WWAN module is not in the whitelist. Now i know that x200s is not on the supported list, but this topic http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=77913 indicates that an x200 BIOS should work as well. So, if anyone has an x200 BIOS patched for Gobi 2000, please PM me.

Hey,

I've a thinkpad x60 tablet, which shows a 1802 with my new, nice ath9k compatible atheros card.
If anybody would be so kind and give me some hints where I can get a patched BIOS image?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi!

Could anybody please send me a link to whitelist disabled bios for ThinkPad X201i (preferably the latest version)?
Want to change WLAN card, and probably install a WWAN card too (later).

Thanks.

Hi,

I´m looking for a patched BIOS for my X61T too.
Because I want to install a MC8755 card but it comes the 1804 error. I already taped the pin 20 put with no effect.

I discovered that if I install a Intel 4965AGN card in the second minipci slot that card is recognized by windows 7. But even with the antennes pluges in - the card doesn´t find a wlan net.

thx

Hello and good evening or (good morning, what else) to every body

Could someone possibly send me a copy of the modded bios?
I've got an T500 that would be nice to have an internal wireless added but the answer is the 1802 error ;-).

Many thanks for a PM from an expert.

Ciao

I am seeking to use an Atheros AR5BXB72 (168c:0024) on a Thinkpad X201i, Type 3249-CTO, bios ver. 1.16 (2010-06-07; 6QET46WW), which may be the same binary sought by SanchSanch above. I don't have Windows running on the laptop; can the bios be flashed either through a bootable SD card (preferred), from a Linux command line (Debian Squeeze, also preferred), or bootable CD?

:-)
