T61p: change screen resolution & lose taskbar

When I try to change my screen resolution to something lower than the default 1680x1050, I lose the taskbar at the bottom of the screen.
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

that's weird. I can't even really thing of a reason because it should redraw to fit the current resolution.
how about you move it to the side first then change resolution and see what happens.
Oh and also, when you change resolution does your screen PAN? Move your mouse to the bottom of the screen and see if it scrolls down to where the taskbar is.

If I understand you correctly then you're experiencing the following problem:
Lower Screen Resolutions don't fill the full screen.
If so, then follow my instructions there that solved the problem of other member.
