T61P screen *always* dims on battery?

#1 Post by hellosailor » Sun Jan 20, 2008 11:39 am

I'd swear I have all the display power savings settings disabled (in the OS and the Thinkpad utility alike) and I've set the machine for "burn baby burn" to keep full screen brightness when it is on battery, but there's a big drop in screen brightness as soon as I pull the power plug, and even manually setting it to full brightness (with the Fn-keys) doesn't bring it back up.

Is this a Vista-Thinkpad oddity or am I missing some OTHER control over the brightness?

There is BIOS setting for that. Also ThinkPad Configuration utility has an option for setting the display brightness when running on batteries. Nothing to do with operating system.

Thanks, Puppy. I'll have to go into the BIOS settings then. I've already gone into the ThinkVantage settings and set that to full brightness.
