PCMCIA/ExpressCard slot for additional HD???

#1 Post by Crunch » Fri Jan 25, 2008 12:50 am

Hi all, supposedly I can install an add'l HD where the PCMCIA/ExpressCard slot is? Is this true? Dimension-wise, it looks a little tight, but not necessarily impossible.

Another buddy told me to get a 64GB solid state HD for the Express Card slot...That sounds hot. No moving parts, so it would be like what, 100,000rpm...:D

Would this be INTERNAL? Either scenario?

Do any of you have a SSHD???

Thanks! Man, this is F-U-N. :D:D

I found a CF to ATA adapter in Akihabara, Tokyo. So I loaded XP on a 2GB CF card. This assembly is a little short to insert it into the HDD slot easily so I used a Ultrabay drive tray. Using it in a X series would make it light and boot fast.

Also have an Expresscard SD adapter and an Expresscard CF adapter. The SD adapter is especially useful in the T60.
