Can Rescue and Recovery 4 operate without CSS being installed and the security chip disabled? Thanks

According to this site, if you are thinking of installing 4.2 it does.
Be sure to follow the instructions carefully to be sure of no complications.

no, from reading the release notes for RNR 4.2, you do not need to have CSS installed. The notes indicate that to use RNR 4.2 you need to have CSS 8; it will not work with earlier versions. Same goes for TP Productivity center; you need to update it to 2.x.
