Ok.. have a T60p it is sitting on my Dock.... battery has been fully charged... the dock is powered.. all lights on... i'm watching the unc/duke game... and it probably hasn't been but a few mintues i leave the notebook on... and boom.. i powers down like i shut it down.... i check my setting in power setting both in control panel and my thinkpad power settings... this is the first time it has happened... it has happened 3 times tonight.. but after the first time..i thought it was odd... and check my settings.. and moved them all to never hibernate/shutdown hard disk/or my display when connected to power source.. and eventually changed my setting for when on just battery power too.. and it did it... what's going on?? thanks,
j

Download a utility like NHC, PCWizard, SpeedFan, Mobmeter, Core temp etc.

Definitely an issue if shuts down in a matter of a few minutes - suspect overheating, or component faulty.
First test:
Power up your computer on AC and simply leave idling on its own (with same settings you described - No hibernation or Hdd spin down or display shut-off).
Leave computer idling for 30 minutes.
Then record temperatures of CPU, GPU and hard drive.
Next run full load stress test for 20 minutes - record sets of temperatures in 5 minute intervals.
If operating OK, next run full test with PC Doctor.
Please report back with the findings.
