No 802.11N connection or Blueroorh/telephone connection

I recently got a T61p (6459 CTO). I am having two problems. First of all I cannot seem to be able to connect in 802.11n mode to my router. I can connect in 802.11g mode. I called tech support and they said I can only connect via WEP ( mismatch on password between the router and thinkpad) or WPA without security. WPA or WPA-2 will connect, but only in "G" mode, contrary to what Tech support said. Any ideas?
Secondly, I have a Razr V3. Neither the Thinkpad nor the phone can see each other in search mode so I cannot connect. The phone works correctly with my car so it is not the phone. Motorola has a program the allows you to backup and update your phone's phonebook in the pc/laptop. I have a USB cable, but I would rather use the bluetooth connection (which is why I bought bluetooth in the first place). Any ideas? I did do searches, but turned up nothing.

The Intel Wifi 4965 AGN will ONLY connect in N mode if you use WPA2 with AES encryption. It absolutely will not connect in WEP (as per strict adherence to Draft N), which makes the Lenovo tech's commment interesting... This has to be set in both the router, and the profile in Access connections. Since you tried a search with the bluetooth, I assume that the bluetooth radio was switched on in the Tpad. Have you tried the TP with any other BT device?

is the phone and/or PC in "visible" mode. If not they wont see each other, one of them have to be for it to work. Put the phone in visible mode and scan from the PC for it.

You may have to add a BT serial port service first, then look for the phone. Sometime it will be two ports, one for input and one for output. This is same for other BT devices such as GPS puck.

Also, do a Fn-F5 and make sure the BT card is turned on. On older TPs this is done in AC or with a small push button on the LCD.

I am doing better throughput with the above settings,but still "G" at 130 MPS I was only going at half that speed). I do have it password protected should I remove that as well. Thanks for the help.

Thanks to all for your help. The phone and the thinkpad are now talking. However, the software does not recognize the phone, but that is a Motorola problem. Thanks again.

If you are getting 130 MBps, you are running in 802.11n mode but unless your router supports dual band 802.11n operation (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) that's as much as you will get with the Intel 4965 AGN card, as it is fully compliant with the intent of the 802.11n Draft 2 spec (a long story which has already been covered here previously).

If you are getting 130 MBps, you are running in 802.11n mode but unless your router supports dual band 802.11n operation (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) that's as much as you will get with the Intel 4965 AGN card, as it is fully compliant with the intent of the 802.11n Draft 2 spec (a long story which has already been covered here previously).

Its a TrendNet TEW-631BRP and it is supposed to do Dual Band up to 300 BPS. Again thanks for your help.

The TEW-631BRP has been available for a while now (at least 18 months as far as I can tell), so I would be very surprised if it does 5Ghz band, as only the most recent built for Draft 2 802.11n routers, such as the Linksys WRT600N, are supporting it so far!

I went and had a look on the Trendware website and finally managed to find the specs on the most recent hardware revision of the TEW-631BRP (V3.0)R and its 2.4GHz band only.

�� 2.412 to 2.484GHz frequency band operation

You are correct, I did not look at the specs that carefully. A little false advertising in that it claims that it is a 300. However, I did not receive the V3.0, but the 2.0, I did get it a a very good price ($69 including shipping), so I cannot complain. Again thanks for all your help.
