My T60 running XP Pro always keeps the battery charging even when the Optimize for battery lifespan is enabled. I set it to Custom and put 15% as the threshold to begin charging and rebooted - still keeps charging to full when the unit is plugged in.

Any ideas on how to get this to work correctly?

I had a friends T60 do the same, sending it to repair fixed her problem. If you're out of warranty then try to reset your battery through Power Manager but there's no guaranty that it will work.
