im trying to find a solution so i need a a little help first.

how many different cell sizes are there for the T61. my t61 came with the one that sticks out on the back - is that a 8 or 9 cell?

i bought a smaller one that does not stick out - the FRU number is "FRU P/N 42T5225" but i cant find info on this part number - do you know what cell size it is?

im looking for a solution that wont leave me with a battery that stick out on the back and still gives me about 2hours+ (deppending on what im doing on the notebook ofcourse)

i have uninstalled lenovo power management and uses only vista powermanagement - isent it a bit clumsy to have both installed - in my case it caused me alot of confusion about which program controlled what.

hope you can help.

You've T61 14.1'' W. It accepts 3 types of standard batteries 4, 6 and 7 cell. Only 4 cell sits flush, rest of all sticks out.

Something may be wrong as I have the T61 15.4" Wide and it has gotten up to 3.5, on just regular web browsing and email. Screen is not as bright, but still very good in my opinion for such a beast.

All depends on what you are running. I can open email and the web and see 3:40 based on the 9-cell battery and full screen brightness. Open Second Life, and that drops to 2:25 immediately.

Intel also has some docs buried on their web site about the Core Dup chipsets and power consumptions versuss systems. If you are using the CD/DVD at all--forget about battery run time. Take the same media and run it off the hard drive, and there's a huge difference.

The only guarantee is that your "mileage" WILL vary.<G>
