BSOD - MS LifeCam NX-3000 and Jiaocap driver

Windows XP SP2, ThinkPad T61/p, Core 2 Duo T7300, 2GB of RAM.
I have no other camera software installed on this fairly new machine. When I install the 1.4 Software for the LifeCam NX-3000 and get to the "Plug Camera In " screen as soon as the camera is (correctly) detected I get a BSOD IRQL_NOT_EQUAL_TO stop message. I've tried it with no firewall (Comodo V3), no antivirus (Norton Corprorate 10), and combination of yes and no for either product. PC Doctor tells me I'm loading a WDM driver from JiaoCap called ksproxy.ax which is in my system32 folder.
Does anyone know what this driver does, and could it be in conflict with the driver(s) for the camera?
