Question - while ordering a laptop, can I specify parts?

If, when ordering a new T61(p), could I specify preference for certain parts that I would like to see built into the system?
Say I have a preference for an NMB keyboard over others and specifically ask for that keyboard by part number while ordering the laptop, would the customer service rep accept that request and specify the preference or would they brush me off and the keyboard type would be added by willy-nilly chance?
Cheers.

Darn it.
Harry, how do you find the sxga 14.1 on your lappy?
I have a 15" Flexview SXGA+ (1400x1050) on my T42 (the laptop's in the shop for a motherboard replacement, but Lenovo doesn't seem to have a record of it being there, but that's another story) and I don't know how I'd adjust to a non-IPS screen, having seen a colleague's 14.1" sxga on his T42p (his was dark and dreary - mine was bright and cheery). Any comparison between the T61p 14.1 sxga and t42p sxga?
Also is the off-center screen bothersome?

I like the LCD on my T61/P. It's just the right size and brightness for me. Is it as nice as the Flexview LCD I had on my T42/P? Not even close to having the same viewing angles and contrast. But that was a 15" UXGA LCD, not 14". I had a T41 with a 14" SXGA+ LCD and it was very nice. Overall, I think the quality of LCD's has gone down since the T4X days ...

I just made a post in the X3X area saying the same thing ... its not just Lenovo though, most (if not all) TN panels today are crappy.
