What do you guys think of the specs? Don't know why the T7800 cost much more than the T9300 when it's only 100mhz faster. Isn't the 9300 the lastest one? It's 6MBL2 compares to 4MBL2.

I know it's going to be a hit on the graphic card with the 128 vram, but I think I can deal with it. Just looking into something more up to date, since my T43 is getting outdated. What do you guys think?

from what you have on there it looks great, the only different thing i would do would be to add more ram, unless you were going to get this 3rd party,the 9300 is a new processor and i have heard good reviews on it,hope this helps

I agree, but don't get it from Lenovo. Newegg and Frys have 2GB DDR2 sticks for under $50.

Another thing to consider is whether or not you really want the 9-cell battery. It looks ugly because it sticks out, and it adds quite a bit of weight to the machine. I totally detest 9-cell batts. Both of my R50p's came with 9-cell and I replaced them with 6-cell ones, even though I lost money in the process.

Personally, I'd stick with the 9-cell...I bought my T61p with a 9-cell, and I'm glad I did. The Quadro is going to suck a lot more power than integrated graphics do, so having the maximum amount of battery time available is more important to me than the aesthetics of having a flush to the main case battery.

However, that being said, your mileage may vary, and for a lot of users (both here and other places) the reverse is true.

I would also go for a bigger hard drive....
I have tested some WD Sorpio 250 GB and they seem as fast as a 7200rpm (or very close...) and their capacity is just HUGE....
If you work a lot with your laptop (usually the case when somebody buys the T61p version), go for the big HD!

I already got a maxtor mini touch4 portable hd. It's 160gb and I think it's good 260gb (230gb) is good enough. I'm sticking with the 9 cell for now even though the 9300 penryn supposedly uses less battery. I rather have more since I'm in school from 8am-10pm with little to no time for recharge.

Well you could get the advanced ultrabay battery instead of the 9-cell ... That way you retain the form factor, nothing sticking out and a touch lighter as well.
