Access Connections broken after Intel Driver update

#1 Post by costas » Wed Feb 13, 2008 4:24 am

I got a T61 15" with Vista 32 installed. Sunday, because it was the weekend and my guard was down, I used Lenovo's system update to update my drivers, including the Intel ones for my 3945ABG card. After the upgrade, Access Connections can no longer connect to my WiFi network at home or work: however, the Windows service sees and connects just fine, Fn+F5 works OK, the Fn+F5 WiFi scan finds my networks OK: it's just the actual connection that's broken: AC fails on the first step ("Wireless Settings" or something) and when I hit "Details" it gives me an error code of 65537 with an explanation that the DCHP server is unreachable (which of course it isn't).

I checked the Intel settings and I can't find anything new that looks suspicious. I also uninstalled and re-installed AC (4.42 Vista) to no avail. FWIW the Intel WiFi driver is dated Nov 27, 2007, version 11.5.0.36.

Anybody else in the same situation? any fixes, sort of rolling back the driver (my WLAN wasn't very stable before and this driver does seem to be an improvement so far, except this AC issue.

I searched before posting this topic but didn't find anything relevant until I did a Google search for the Intel version number which guided me right back to another forum posting: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?p=382458

Sorry for the duplicate thread, delete if need be.
