Rescue and Recovery 4.2 failures

I have RR 4.2 and I am getting the failure listed below. Any idea on how to resolve this?

Engine: CopyDataToNewBackup failed for 'C:\Windows XP Professional.vmdk' - DecompressAndDecryptBuffer failed

How big is that VMWare virtual disk file? Do other files larger than 2GB or 4GB run into the same error?

I suspect the file size is the culprit. You can try to split the VMWare volume into multiple smaller files. Look up the documentation for vmware-vdiskmanager.exe.

Your suggestion about the file size put me on the path of doing single storage for those files. I went into the advanced menu and picked that option for the two VMware files that I have. One is 13 gigs and the other is 9 gigs. I executed another backup and it ran without issue this time. I will know if it is going to work when I execute the backup again.
