T60 8743-CTO Ultrabay battery

#1 Post by gnyffel » Thu Feb 14, 2008 10:05 am

Hello

According to http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-68410, my T60 supports the 40Y6790 Ultrabay battery. However, looking at the parts information page, only 1951, 1952, 1953, 1954, 2007, 2008, 2613 and 2623 are listed. Is this a mistake, or is there something that makes it incompatible with my laptop? And barring that, are there any general caveats to the battery?

Specs are:
T5600
1G RAM
X1400, 128M
120G, 5400RPM HDD

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

all T60s as far as i know work with all accessories. There's none that will work with 1 type but not another.

Since the ultrabay battery always discharges first, it wears out quickly. I had it for my R60. It was at less than half capacity after 4-5 months. Instead of replacing it, I opted to get the nine cell battery which does add a bit of weight, but has bettery battery life than the six cell and modular battery together. If you already have the nine cell and are looking to get every minute, the bay battery might be worth it.
