Problems with video after undock

Hello all.
I have had a few problems with my laptop after I undock from my advanced docking station. I am running Windows Vista.
Occasionally after I undock my T60, I will open the lid to the laptop and there will be no video. I know that vista is running because I can hit ctrl+alt+delete and enter my password and I hear the login chimes. I have also tried putting the laptop to sleep and then waking it back up - but still no video output. I generally have to do a hard reset (power button 5 seconds) to reboot it. This really sucks.
Anyone had a similar experience and knows how to fix?
Thanks.
