How do i check if my T61 has Intel's Turbo Memory

#1 Post by xcgames » Thu Feb 14, 2008 6:53 pm

I have a T61 and I don't remember if I ordered the Intel turbo memory. Is there a way to check? The machine came with OEM vista business.

Thanks all...

One really quick way to check, assuming turbo memory settings are still set to default values, is to navigate to:

Program Files --> Intel

in your main disk drive and see if you have this folder: "Intel Matrix Storage Manager"

If you do, you have turbo memory, and you can access the turbo memory configuration console by opening that folder, opening the "extn" folder and opening "ShellEx.exe".

Otherwise turbo memory is actually not so easy to find in device manager or system info; a lot of third-party programs will recognize and report it though.

Thanks!

Is there a way to physically check it?

If I don't see it in the program files\intel folder or the start\all prgrams folder does that mean I don't have turbo memory?
Just checking because I can't see mine in any of those places

From what I've tried I think you definitely have turbo memory installed.
I just received my T61 today but also noticed that I couldn't locate the turbo memory. I've tried everything here but still couldn't detect it.
I ended up talking to tech support at Lenovo, and after looking over the 'parts shipped' list through their system, they just confirmed that my system was shipped without turbo memory in the first place. (although I configured and payed for it). Now I've gotta call sales tomorrow and dispute the charges made on the uninstalled turbo memory.

Anybody have any advice on how to fight with the sales people or what kind of reimbursement I can expect?
