can't turn bluetooth on with Fn+F5.

After I bought the laptop (with Vista, unfortunately) I replaced Vista with XP Pro and didn't install any additional IBM software except nework/modem/video/wireless/bluetooth drivers.

Wireless switches on and off and works fine but not the bluetooth device. After installing bluetooth software I don't have any bluetooth devices except MS Bluetooth bus enumerator.

I didn't try using bluetooth when Vista was running and I can't confirm it worked then. Vista'd survived only for 30 min...

I had another thinkpad, T43, and Fn+F5 works on it just fine.

I've had a similar problem. I've written down how I fixed it in next thread:

No, it's a different one. I can't make my bluetooth work at all.

I don't have any bluetooth devices in my Device Manager so all the solutions don't work and I don't know how to switch this device on.

Hotkeys didn't help either.

and I haven't had similar troubles with T43.

The problem was solved in quite a funny way. I installed ubuntu and under ubuntu I was able to switch the bluetooth device on and now it's on permanently
